To be eligible to play in our MiniRoos competition players need to be turning 5 within this calendar year. The format of the MiniRoos program is focused on fun and participation while learning some of the basic skills.
Once registered, players will attend a team formation day where they will be allocated into teams of no more than 7 players. A team leader will be assigned to oversee training and game day activities.
Team leaders will:
- Allow players to play, have fun and problem solve game situations for themselves
- Provide positive reinforcement and encouragement
- Share player playing time fairly
- Manage immediately any aggressive or negative behaviour
It is all about players having fun and being involved … not the result of the game.
Under 6 and Under 7 teams can use Nield Park for team training on any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Training at Nield Park is NOT available on other days.
Game Day Procedure
All games are at Nield Park on Saturday mornings (April through to August) and will follow a published fixture schedule. Players will need to be ready to play at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled kick off time. All games will commence on time (u6 at 9am, u7 at 9.50am).
Games will be played in equal halves and start and finish at the sound of a hooter. Any games that start late will have less playing time. Game halves will start and end at the sound of the hooter.
